Large Bowl: Diameter: 18.3 cm Base: 8 cm Height: 8.3 cm Small Bowl:
Diameter: 13 cm
Base: 6.4 cm
Height: 6.6 cm Two bowls. Two scales. The same intervention.
The large bowl is built for generous portions, for shared meals, for the centre of a table. The small bowl is personal, intimate, held close. Both carry the Wutong Qinghua pattern from Jingdezhen's factory era, and both receive the Occupation mark with equal disregard for the composition beneath.
The Wutong pattern was once so ubiquitous in Chinese daily life that it became invisible, the background hum of a nation's dining tables. Tian Wei makes it visible again by breaking its surface. These bowls carry the memory of a collective past and the mark of an individual present.
Sold individually.
